CEO, Financial Rights Legal Centre
Karen Cox is the CEO of Financial Rights Legal Centre. The Financial Rights Legal Centre provides information, legal advice and assistance, and financial counselling to people in financial stress, or in dispute with their credit provider or insurer. The centre also undertakes education and systemic advocacy to improve outcomes for consumers of financial services, particularly disadvantaged or vulnerable consumers. Trained in law, Karen has been with the Financial Rights Legal Centre for 18 years, and previously worked in other community legal centres. She represents the interests of consumers on a number of government and industry consultation or advisory committees and was previously a director on the board of the Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO).
