How we’re funded
All of the repayments you make through Way Forward go directly to your creditors.
We do not deduct fees or charges from your repayments, and our service is free for clients.
As a registered not-for-profit charity, our main funding source is voluntary donations from some creditors. These donations help cover the costs of running our service so we can support more Australians experiencing financial hardship.
Where a creditor chooses to make a donation, it is usually calculated as a percentage of the repayments they receive through a payment plan. As a general guide, this is 22.5% of the amount paid to that creditor, but any donation is entirely voluntary and paid by the creditor — not by you.
Importantly, these arrangements do not affect the advice or support we provide. Our role is to act in your best interests, help you stabilise your finances and work with creditors to achieve fair and sustainable outcomes. That commitment is central to our purpose as an independent, not-for-profit organisation.
